I am not seeing bucks chasing any does yet in N Central IN.  I am seeing them both as well.  There gunshots this morning were pretty thin as well for opening day and I hunt near the Mississinewa game park.  Very odd.

I hunt in Bartholomew and Brown co.  I and some buddies thought there was more action last week- chasing, grunting  when it was colder.  I was seeing bucks in am only this past week and it was getting into the 70s  temperature.  I did see a whopper 8 pt breed a doe on Thursday but too far away and on the other side of a fenced off private property.  I think this next week will have great temperatures and get the deer moving.

I took a nice ten today but he was bumped by gunners pushing a doe. He was swelled pretty good in neck and was stinking pretty good.

I don't think the does are quite ready around here on account of the way the weather's been hopefully it get's better so my dad and little girl can get a to see some action. I'll be sitting with one of them and hope to see some more action myself.

I have been seeing some nice ones but not alot of hard chasing.

I was out all last week and saw some chasing starting on Wednesday.  One night saw 5 does and 3 bucks out in a field feeding.  Two small 6 pts sparring and a 10pt chasing a doe.  Didn't get a shot at the 10pt.  Too far away the first night, and he took a different trail the second night I saw him.  Southwest Ohio.

I killed a 7 point yesterday with a shotgun. He was with a doe but did not seem interested in mating. Neck not swollen. Bow hunted all last week seen no chasing.

the rut in my area has been non-existent so far.  Seeing large does with their fawns still and still seeing small bucks out on their own trolling and not showing any interest in the doe groups.  It has been one of the oddest years of hunting I have witnessed.
