Arrow of Light - Update and Thank You!
« on: November 21, 2010, 01:59:00 PM »
Several months ago I asked for some donations of supplies to help build some arrows for the local scout troop. These were for the Arrow of Light award to be presented to the scouts by their parents. Well, time passed by, some boys dropped out and others were added to the troop. The membership finally settled in at 13. Last week, I started construction on the arrows. Although not yet completed, I wanted to post up a thank you to all those that contributed to this project. I know that I've forgotten some folks and my sincerest apology to you. Those I do remember are:

Prairie Traditions - Joe Lasch
The Nocking Point - Mike Horton
Roy "Mudd" Williams

So, as I said, we started to put together a baker's dozen (13) arrows for the scouts. These are wall hangers only and will be used by the individual scout's to attach their achievement awards.

They will be stained and sealed, then blue and yellow fletching (scouts colors) attached. I'll post pic later after they are finished. Thanks again to all that donated stone points, shafts and feathers.

Very nice. I wanted to do this for my boys. I did have them made but they didn't look like yours. In the ceremony I dressed like an Indian Chief and shot the arrows. After hitting the target I let out a a scream. They love it!

It is very cool putting two things I love together.

Kudos to you and your boys.

Martin
