I like the looks of the Campaign hat being worn by the gentleman on the left. Next to a choice of wool clothing, finding a decent, sturdy wool/felt hat is almost as difficult, if not more. I've pondered the Campaign hat but dont' know anyone who uses one. Would it not get in the way of the string? Very Canadian looking.
I'm a hat nut, I've got a hat for every day of the month. This is my Campaign hat, the brim is bent down in front instead of the traditional flat brim and it doesn't hinder shooting my bow.

Ron is that a scent stick in your lips?lol! Just kidding!
I got the wool packer from 3rivers. I love it. Soft the brim will bend with the string.

Every time I wear that Campaign hat I feel the urge to get out my Model 97 Winchester Riot gun and climb on a horse..   :goldtooth:

I do the mix and match thing,,Goodwill often has very nice wool sweaters,,army/navy surplus wool is inexpensive and the stuff is good quality,,,LaClairs pullover longhunters with the cape/hood are my favorites,,none of these are "camo" but they are earth tones and that's all you need.

LOL, love the stogie. Cigars and Pipes are always better in the outdoors. Think I am going to have to hunt out a campaign hat. Any suggestions on brands to look at or stay away from? Do they lose their shape in the rain?

The Columbia stuff is very warm and comfortable. I have a pair of the gallatin range pants and though they are comfy I have found that snow piles up and sticks on quite quick. Must be the way the fabric is felted. With my swiss military surplus and SID pants I have never had the snow stick or pile on. If you wear gators it is not an issue; it's just something i've noticed. Like my swiss surplus pants the Columbia stuff is priced right.
