For my first traditional kill...It has taken me 5 years to get my first. Last summer, I finally sold all my other archery gear, making me have to hunt solely with trad stuff and it paid off Oct. 26. I was hoping for a shot at a nice 10 pt that was hanging around my stand for about 20 minutes that would not give me a good shot at my under 20 yard range. Man, he came close a couple of times but just would not give me a clear shot at the ol-boiler room. After walking away from me, I caught some movement slightly off to my left and another deer was walking into my shooting lane. It was getting dark but I decided to take my shot since it came into less than 12 yards from me and I made a great hit! It all happened so fast that I hardly remember hitting anchor. My arrow found nothing but heart! It was a button buck (delicious), a trophy all the same to me. The satisfaction of taking game with a bow that I have worked on is priceless.
Thanks to Mike and Jason for putting a bow blank out there that is the best shooting bow that I have owned to date. Now it is time to give my selfbows a try with my rivercane arras!!!
