Skookum Bow Quivers

I am thinking of buying a Skookeum 3 arrow quiver. How well will it work on a longbow?
What do you think?

I have a 2 arrow one and love it.  Fits nicely on my D shaped long bow and my 3 piece long bow.  The 3 arrow quiver should be just as nice.

I have the 2 blade model as well.  I also used to use it on my longbow.  I'm not big on bow quivers anymore, but I hang on to this one just in case because it was my favorite.  The only drawback is that they are a little close to your bow hand and that affects some people.  I didn't notice it myself.  I think you'll be pleased.

Another fan of the 2 arrow model.  I use a quiver on my pack for additional arrows.  I never really notice the arrow close to the bow hand, but if you had really thick hands it could be noticable.  I really like mine and hunt with it on my bow almost all of the time.  Even if I take it on or off, I can't tell any difference in the way my bow shoots.

I saw these 2 arrow quivers on Arky Bob's & Powducks bows back in October.  After seeing how handy they where I bought one for myself.
I don't think you will be dissapointed.

Anyway to add a hitchhiker to the 2 arrow model so I can carry a blunt as well?  Currently carrying 1 broadhead & 1 blunt in mine.

I have the 3 arrow, 2 arrow, and 1 arrow (for 3 3 blades). If I could buy just one, I would buy the 3 arrow. I hunt with just 2 blades now, and the 3 arrow skookum is very light, and seems to weigh not enough more to be noticeable. One thing about the 2 arrow skookum, your arrows are slightly bent over one another when mounted. I now have the 3 arrow skookum on my 2 longbows.....I also like carrying 3 arrows with me for 1 day hunts.
I also like the tie wrap mounting, seemed crude to me at first, but it works well, and mounts and unmounts without unstinging the bow.

I meant to say the single arrow skookum I have is for the 3 blade Woodsman type blade.

Anybody have any idea if one could get 3, 160 gr snuffers into the 3 arrow? I've got the 2 arrow and I'm real happy with it but I switched back to 3 blades and thinking about going back to a bow quiver as well.

You can also use the two arrow skookum for one broadhead and one blunt.  Instead of trying to stuff the blunt into the broadhead slot, just take a rubberband and double or triple wrap it around the broadhead holder.  Then just slip the blunt end of the arrow behind the rubber band.  Therefore you have a broadhead and blunt handy.

Interesting thread.  As I read it I was concerned that some seem to be carrying only one broadhead-tipped arrow.  Then I realized (after seeing this picture) that most who use this 1-2 arrow type bowquiver carry spares in a back or pack quiver?

Of course the reason for my concern is I can recall a couple of times over the past 4.5 decades where a follow-up arrow was important; spine shot, tracking job that lead to a not-yet-dead deer, and I have had opportunity for a 2nd shot on a missed animal a few times. One broadhead wouldn't get it done for me. Also, since it is legal here one of my goals is to shoot more than one deer during a sit.  I had a great opportunity to do this (actually 3) on Sept. 3rd but I didn't want to shoot a small buck and I forgot to buy my bonus antlerless tag before I went hunting.

I don't carry a pile of arrows, just 3 broadhead and one judo when hunting near home/camp.  I have also been known, on distant hunts, to carry 2-3 extra broadheads (well protected) in case I need to fetch a missed shot and replace the head.

I mounted a kwickie quiver to my climbing stand and have 6 arrows in the kwickie quiver and 2 arrows in the skookem.

I don't have 8 arrows with broadheads though.  2 arrows in the kwikie quiver have broadheads but the other 4 are squierrel arrows.  (Going to get one of 'em one of these days too.)  

Problem is when I'm packing the stand my arrows in the kwickie quiver are not handy at all.  The 2 arrow skookem has a broadhead handy for instant access and a blunt for stumping or small game as I walk to my hunting area.  The blunt arrow is turned around so the nock slips into the broadhead sheath.

So I have a total of 3 broadheads.  1 in the kwikie and two in the skookum once I get up the tree. The other 5 arrows in the kwicke and are tipped for squirrels.
