Teresa Asbell might be a genius....
« on: November 26, 2010, 09:52:00 PM »
I am always impressed with simple ideas that provide big results. About 2 weeks ago, Teresa sent me one of her Asbell Wind-Blocker vests. I wore it deer hunting a couple times (even got some blood on it    ;)   ), but until today the weather just wasn't cold enough to give it a true test. This morning was 28 degrees and a little breezy when I left the house. I wore my synthetic long johns, my usual wool pants, a wool shirt, the Windblocker vest, and one of Teresa's wool pull overs. Kromer up top.

I only stayed out 4 hours, but I could have stayed out all day. Her vest made the difference. I'm kind of a wuss in the cold, and I'm not afraid to layer on the wool. In temps and wind like today, I would have normaly added 1 more wool shirt and a much thicker wool vest. I'm liking this Wind-Blocker. The next test will be January rabbits......

Thanks Teresa, AWESOME!!!!!!   :bigsmyl:

I've used various wind blocker garments and never had a complaint.   And, I've heard that Ms. Asbell's wools are superior so i'm fiddin' to order a couple of items, including that little shoulder bag.    Heck, if it gets too cold I can wear them to bed.

Have not tried the wind blocker but the pullovers are really nice.

Maybe I'll have to give it a spin.

When we talked on the phone, one of Teresas concerns was that the garment NOT be loud. It isn't. Nestled between 2 layers of wool, I actually forgot it was there.

This is small, it rolls up compactly.....I'm going to make it a standard adition to my possibles bag. It could be a hunt or even a life save should the weather turn.

I need one of those, been looking to buy a vest for a while, wore my Carhartt vest last night. A vest makes a big difference keeping the core warm.   KYArcher

Exactly what I've been looking for.I just placed an order for one.
Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

Good to hear. I ordered one about a week ago. She needed to set up her machine to make more of them.

The pull-overs are great. I ordered 2 more and another vest. Seemed I out grew the ones I had from the early 90's. Not as lean, not as mean, still a Marine.
