Horne Traditionalist brace height?
« on: November 27, 2010, 10:13:00 AM »
Anyone know what the recommended brace height is on a Horne's Traditionalist longbow, 62"?  Couldn't find it on the website.

The brace height on my combo hunter longbow is 7"
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

I have a 66" traditionalist, and a 64" combo hunter.  Both are 7 1/4".

Thanks for the feedback, Mike.  Not sure if the Combo Hunter and Traditionalist use the same BH range.  I was at 7" and that works well for my other hybrids but it wasn't doing well for the Horne.  Decided to try 7.5" this morning and it was like a different bow, shot much better.  Was just wondering what other owners find works best.  It's a dandy little bow, very fast and smooth.  Just need some time to get used to the 'notched' grip.

TSP...BH recomendations are just that, a starting point to start tuning. Play with it up and down till you find the sweet spot for your form, arrow, string, bow combination. What may work for someone elses setup may not be the best for yours.
Bowhunting is "KILL and EAT" not "Catch and Release".....Semper Fi!

Hvy, just checking to see what fellow Traditionalist owners used for their brace.  I thought it was interesting that 7" does not work for me on this bow (tested with wood, aluminum and carbon arrows), especially since my other three R/D longbows (58" to 64") like it just fine.  Just goes to show how the 'best' for any given bow is mostly in the tuning.
