Fir from plank boards and hexshafts. Did use carbon when I shot wheels. They went with the wheelbow bye, bye. I just enjoy working with the wood.

I use wood, Hilderbrand Sitka Spruce with my HH longbow and I have a dozen Surewoods I need to fletch.  Really like the Sitka. I have a couple aluminum Easton longbow arrows that I shoot just to gauge myself.  I also use them for really long shots 50 yards.  Aluminum are definately louder off the bow.

My twelve yr old son Nick, says we should all shoot wood, because you can "train" them to hit...even when you make a bad shot.
