A & H draw length

I have been thinking about trying an A & H 3pc TD bow.  I don't really want to go over 62" and A & H said I should shoot a 64" bow with a 14" riser.  I don't think I will find a used (in my price range) new short design bow anytime soon.  I draw between 29 1/2" and 29 3/4" depending on the depth of the riser.  Who has a draw length 29 1/2" - 30" and has shot a 62" bow with 14" riser?  How did it work for you?

I've been thru a few A&H's, three piece and one piece. Super shooting bows. I draw 30" and the 64" work the best for me. I've owned and shot the 62", 64" and 66" limbs on 14' and 16" Standard, JK and RC risers. I wound up keeping a 14" Standard riser along with a 14" JK riser and one set of 64" 50@30 limbs. The 62" were pushing it no matter what riser I shot them on but they were decent on a 16" RC riser. Hope this helps.

My 17 year old son who draws 29, got 64" limbs a few months ago to replace the 62" limbs, and he is much happier with the longer bow.

I have a 30" draw and also preferred the 64" and 66" on the 14" riser.

Thanks for the info.  I know the guys at A and H know their bow, but sometimes a boyer can be a little conservative or the bow is just not as ideal at one length vs. another, but still be a great shooter at the shorter length.   I have had a few that were fine shorter then recommend, and a few that didn't stack, but just didn't shoot or feel great on the shot with a shorter length.

I went to Kalamazoo last year and shot all the bow lenghs. With my 29 inch draw,I liked the 64 inch on the 14 inch riser and the 62 in the new short 12 inch riser. I am shooting a 64 inch now.

I have had the same experience at my 29.5" draw length.

I have the same draw length as you. I went from 62 to 64 and like the change. I have the 14" riser.

With any limb and especially longbows you run out of limb at a specific length.  I was testing a set of long ILF longbow limbs today on a 19" riser making a 64" bow.  At my 30 1/2" draw I was at 87 degrees of sting angle to the tip.  At 90 degrees the limb is done and it stacks.

So listen to the bowyer, they know when the limb is going to run out.
