Jack Howard?

Over the past few days I have been researching Jack Howard, and have become quite intrigued by him. I was wondering if any of you Jack Howard experts could answer a few questions? 1) What kind of anchor did Jack use while shooting with sights? 2)Did he prefer hunting with the Classic or the Jet? 3)What was Jack's biggest bull and or biggest buck?--thank you for your help

He used the original Gamemaster (66" bow)for most of his hunting. He killed is biggest bull (350 something) with the Gamemaster Jet. He preferred the Jet.

The Classic is the original Gamemaster handle section with the Jet limbs making it a 64" bow. He came up with this design to use up all of the blank handle sections he had already cut out for the original Gamemaster. He never even shot this model.

That is some neat information about Mr. Howard that probably very few people, maybe Mrs. Howard and you, even know.  Now thanks to you, more of us will know it.

So the original Gamemaster had the red Vermillion and black Phenolic riser?  Obviously he used longer limbs on it to get a 66" bow.

Another difference between the Original Gamemaster and the Newer "Classic" was that Jack molded a metal rod into the riser.  This was to increase rigidity.  The black section on the Gamemaster and the Classic risers is Jacks own formula of plastic.  He actually mixed and poured the formula himself.  On a "Classic" you can put a magnet to the riser and it will hold on.  Jack claimed that handle rigidity was a key factor in his increased speed.

As Kelly stated, Jack never even shot his Classic model.  By the time he introduced it, he was into his '80's.  

While Jack's philosophy was "there is only one right way to make a bow",  He did do a bit of variations whne he came out with the Classic in that he also introduced the "Carbon Cassic" with carbon limbs instead of his standard Glass.  At that time, no more Jets were supposed to be made, but he did make a few on special order only.  A very few he made with carbon also.
