As in a bow stringer...? No,  I bought a few when they were cheaper, and could not come up with a better idea or use better components.   Wasn't worth the trial and error for me.

I made several a while back cause the production stringers could not handle small tips well, and many still don't.

Same here, I tried and it didn't work very good.
I'd also like to see one that somebody made that was a good design and easy to make, mine just didn't impress me.

Hey guys, I did make one out of 1/4 or so cord and leather.  I had to adjust my leather part to  fit my bow, but it works fine.  I've got a new bow coming and we'll see if it works with that one or if I need to re-adjust the leather piece.  No big deal if you have plenty of leather.  Mine is simply a boot on one end laced with heavy fake lacing from a Tandy type store.  The other end is a piece of leather strap, an old belt would work fine, with a cut out for the tip and a loop that holds the cord over the tip also.  If this makes no sense and you are still interested, e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll take a pix and e-mail you.  Hugh

I made one that is attached to a 4 x 4 post on the back porch.  It is made of two ladder rack screws from the lumber store.  They both are offset and this allows be to turn then to the best position so that the top one centers the handle and the bottom one is at the tip.  So far it works from 48 inch to 66 inch bows

I made one and it works fine.
I just adjusted it till it fit the bow I was making it for. I wanted a dedicated stringer for a short KMag I have, so I made this one, copying my store bought one.
For the pocket at one end I used a piece of nylon tow strap, doubled over and stitched diagonally to make a cone shaped pocket. I made a hole through the webbing ends with a red hot metal punch, and tied in the cord.
On the other end I drilled a hole edgewise through a 1" square piece of flat rubber and threaded it onto the cord and tied a loop about 8 inches diameter, with the rubber block captive in the loop.
I used 3mm braided line and tied it to the length that I needed to fit the bow and be about right to step on when I was using it, adjusting it at the end tied to the web pocket.

The things you do when you live where there are no local shops to buy from, and the shipping would cost more than the merchandise...

I got it, thank you!
Those look great, I may have to try again.

The ones that I made weren't stitched like yours, mine were just leather loops and I couldn't keep them in place so I just gave up on it.

I know that using a bow stringer will save the life on your limbs and I should really be using one.

Been making my own stringers for 10-15 years to handle my heavier LB's. Mine are strong & sure. I've helped others herein to do the same. If you want directions & pix e-mail me. Good luck
