What are the pro's & con's of both? Am new at traditional so be patient with me. Looking to make a few of my own. Also where can I purchase the barred feathers that have multi colors on them?

Swiper... pro's and con's? Hmmmmmm. In the past I've found Douglas Fir that was a lot straighter than Ramin.
Doug Fir is available from archery dealers and that means you can get it already spined and weighed. Ramin has to be bought from hardware/wood stores and spined yourself.
Ramin is usually tougher and may have a weight advantage...heavier.
I like the way Doug Fir recovers from paradox better than Ramin, but that may just be me.
Check Herb's Archery on the sponsor's list for your feather needs.

I've only used Doug Fir, so I can't speak about the Ramin.
DF are fairly tough compared to POC. Mine are generally heavier then POC. In my opinion they make the best looking arrow of any type of wood. When you stain them the grain just "pops", and really looks nice!

Based on what's been stated I'm going to go with Douglas Fir. Anyone have recommendation for the purchase? Am looking to buy in bulk of 100 or so.

Look for Ted Fry on the sponsors list... all the Douglas Fir I've gotten from him in the past has been the best.
You'll be tickled with Doug Fir!

Funny not to long ago a woman couldnt remember my wife's name so she called her Mrs. Raptor,
Lois set that one straight right away.
