howard hill poundage question
« on: June 03, 2007, 04:39:00 PM »
I'm looking at a HH Big Five that is 64#s at 30".  What would the #s be at 28inches.  Is it three pounds an inch or something else.  I was thinking about 58 lbs.  The length is 70"

Without actually weighing the bow, 58# would be my guess, too.

I think most of the current Hill bows gain anywhere from 2.0 to 2.50lbs per inch.

you might find it a bit lower than 58.   I've found a number, of older ones especially, that go as much as 4 lbs. per inch.   A  lot depends on the specific tillering of that bow.

I currently have a Cheetah and it is just under 3# an inche.  Most seem between 2.5 and 3# per inch from what I've shot.  BTW, if you are looking for wood arrows for that bow get with aromakr(Bob)--he makes a great arrow!!
