I find myself kissing the string regularly on release, is that a problem with my form? Is there a way to correct that?

You are turning your head into the string when you anchor. Have you checked you dominant eye?

That makes sense. I know I'm left eye dominant, I'm left handed, and shoot that way. I'll pay more attention to what I'm doing next time.
