New String
« on: January 05, 2011, 09:41:00 PM »
Just bought a Ben Pearson Cougar off a guy on ****. Any suggestion on where to get a new string? There's a guy sell son **** looks really really reasonable which makes me nervous but I don't want to put too much into it until I decide if it's a keeper or something to sell off later.
Any advice is welcome and appreciated  :)

Three Rivers Archery Supply makes nice Flemish B-50 that would be a good choice for your Cougar.

I started making my own Flemish twist strings with B50. It was pretty much a necessity when I started making my own self bows, otherwise I would go broke buying strings and this way I can customize the string to fit the bow.

It's not hard and there's a plan for a Flemish twist string jig right here on Trad Gang.
Here's the link to it........

Oliverstacy in the classifieds.  I have bought a bunch of strings from Josh in the last year or so and they are perfect every time. Great guy to deal with too. As a matter of fact, I just got a new set of limbs for an ILF and I need a new string myself, so get in line.
