Lighter arrows?

I shoot Easton Aluminum xx75, 2315 @31" for deer hunting.
I have some 2117 from my c-bow days. I was wondering if they are too light to use for squirrels and rabbits out of my Super Kodiak 50@28?
Just worried about damage to my bow. Thanks.

No,they aren't too light at all.

if yer holding at 28", and yer bow really does scale 50# @ 28", and as long as yer arrow's total weight is not much less than 450 grains, yer good to go.  better yet if yer arrows weigh 500 grains or more.

2117's are 12gr/inch.  12x31= 372gr. insert 20gr.  125 gr head.  nock and feathers 15gr?  535gr easily.

I think you will be with a 2117 out of your bow, but that is just my thought.

The 2117 are a heavier weight arrow than you 2315 by 10 grains if the same leangth.  I have shot 2117 out of a 55# Custom Kodiak with no problem and I have a 29.5" draw

this is the first time i've heard that 2117's are light. you can shoot deer with these with no problem at all and small game as well

I just thought they were a 'lighter' arrow than I was using. I've used them out of my c-bow for deer. Thanks for the replies. Still have a lot to learn concerning trad hunting.

I shoot 2117's.  They're on the heavier side, coming in at 12 grains per inch.  I don't know about the other arrow you shoot.

Take the complete arrow weight with head, fletching, inserts, and nocks.  At 31 inches that comes to about 535 grains (with a 125 gr head).  Divide that by your draw weight of 56# and you come up with 9.55 GPP.  

Now the debate starts.  Some bow manufacturers will not warranty a bow if you shoot less than 8 GPP.  Mid range is about 10 GPP.  Personally, I think that your 9.55 GPP is just fine.  I wouldn't hesitate to shoot 8.0 GPP, myself - complete pass throughs on Whitetails.

I have used such arrows on my 60# bows,I draw 29" but they were shorter too.I think you have the perfect arrow for that bow both for small games and deer.
