Buffing fullerplast ?
« on: January 07, 2011, 10:48:00 AM »
Someone once told me that you can buff out fuller- plast to a satin or high gloss finish. I'm think that they said to use car wax. Is anyone familiar with doing this?

Thanks,
Darren

I spray with Krystal, which is a catalyzed varnish finish very similar to Fullerplast. It will buff out well to a gloss finish.

I have a buffing wheel set up though, so haven't tried it by hand. Not sure how much success you would have with that.

A flat finish buffed to a gloss won't be quite as hard, nor quite as glossy as if you used a true gloss finish to start with though.

Get yourself a can of Dupont polishing compound  at your auto parts store. If the finish is really rough use buffing compound first.

I'm not familiar with Crystal?  Is it a two part varnish?  A website where I could look up it's properties?
