fletching -newbie question
« on: January 08, 2011, 10:13:00 PM »
Somebody please line me out on this fletching thing. I purchased a straight clamp multi fletcher. To get the right kind of feathers and chopper, Which will work with it. Either left or right or what?

With a straight clamp left or right will work. But you would get better flight with a helical clamp.

Thanks Bowmarks. I will have to start with the straight because thats what I got. I'll grow. I have rivercane arrows and wild turkey feathers.

Gene,  just make sure that you have all left wing or all right wing on an individual arrow.  Don't mix left wing feathers and right wing feathers on the same arrow.

Put a little offset on your straight fletch and you will get good arrow flight.

Yea thats what I got. and I also learned the hard way not to mix the right wing and left. Man! , Wish I would have checked my post this morning. My flether is second hand and no instructions. Looks likeI maybye can offset the fletch.

There are adjustments on the Jo-Jan fletchers. Front and rear that can be moved either way. Just loosen the screws and move as needed.
