Suggestions on footing/arrow tuning.
« on: January 10, 2011, 04:55:00 PM »
Was curious if anyone else has footed a Gold tip blem (I plan on ordering from Big Jim).  If you have, which aluminum arrow size did you use?

I shoot a predator 54# @ 28, but draw to about 30+ inches.  So maybe around 60# draw or so.  Suggestions on which GT to order?  I find 400's shoot good or 2117 at around 30 inches.

Point weight? arrow length?  Anyone shoot anything similar? I'm open to any suggestions.  Thanks  Ben

Thanks for the info.  GT chart is putting with the 300 size, but I've shot 340's from this with 225 up front with a 31 inch arrow and they are too stiff.  55/75 sounds good I will probably settle with that at maybe 30 1/2 or so.

Has anyone footed a 55/75 with an aluminum arrow?  If so what did you use?

O nice, I'll check that out.  From what I understand I've seen sections of aluminum about 2 inches or so, epoxied to the end of a carbon arrow.  Not sure, but I'll check that section out.

Thanks for the heads up.

Well I think I've got it, thanks for the help guys.  Looks like 30 1/2 inch 55/75 I'll mess with the point weight and see what it likes.

And footed with a 2216.

Thanks again!

I sell a carbon collar that will do the same thing and only add a few grains to the shaft. Easy to install.

Thanks,bigjim
