Here's a pair of winter moc's I made years ago. I made liners out of sheepskin and the outer moccasin was made from elk skin. I saturated the leather with waterproofing and put some goop on the soles so they wouldn't be slippery. The picture doesn't show them very well but they were the pucker toe design.

The shirt and pants were made from two Whitney wool blankets and the cap is otter.

Ron, that is an awesome pic. Looks like something straight out of the history books!!   :thumbsup:

I've got a pair of elk skin mocs coming to give a try this years early season. I also am very much considering making a pair myself. Another TG'er sent me a great "how to" link.
