Gene Wensel's Buckskin and Bone
« on: January 15, 2011, 08:57:00 AM »
After a rather unsatisfying season (of my own making), I decided to "re-energize" myself and my commitment to the whole process. So I ordered Mr. Wensel's book from 3Rivers and what a boost! I read this book in record time and am now reading it again.
We learn a not too surprising fact about Biggie, how to "Wenselize" big deer and the last paragraph of the book says it all.
Thanks for making the effort to write this "probably your last book on the whitetail deer", Mr Wensel. SAY IT AIN'T SO!

I'm in the Middle of Barry's "Once Upon a Tine",  great read!    I then have Mitten's book on my nightstand waiting to be read.

I have Gene's "Hunting Rutting Whitetails" and "One Man's Whitetail" that I purchased back in 1990.  I can't tell you how many times I've re-read each.   ;)

Yep, a great read for sure!

I'm in the middle of "Come November", and man what a great book also. When I'm done with that I'll start over with "Once Upon A Tine", then "Buckskin and Bone".

I can't wait to get my hands on their new dvd at K-zoo!

Great read! Be sure to read Barry's book Once Upon a Tine..it is laugh out loud funny in some spots and the knowledge those two guys have is just off the charts. You can see why they have been killing big deer for decades with their traditional bows.
