Fleece hat and a  full headcover/mask
Rag wool glove for bow hand
Marino Wool underwear
2 thin wool shirts
1 meduim wool sweater
wool bibs
jeans/other hunting pants under the bibs.
Wool boot covers my mother-in-law made me
Rocky boots with 1,00 grams thinsulate

I was able to handle 15 degree weather with 15-20mph winds for 8-9 hours this last weekend.

I like to take peanutbutter and jelly with granola to eat. Water in an inner pocket to keep it from freezing.

I ordered some Minus 33 thermals today..tops and bottoms in 400 expedition weight. I have a great zip-up fleece from Mack's Prairie Wings with a windstopper layer.....

I was thinking of getting an Asbell wool shirt with hood to layer between the two tops mentioned above.  Any thoughts????

The first time of the season the mercury really drops I find myself suffering through the day. After a few days of being in theese temps I build a tolerance and conditioning both mental and physical which gets me through the rest of the season. One of the things I try to avoid is getting wet. Wet and cold is a dangerous combination. Every year at least one time I step in water that goes over the top of my boot. I then know my hunting time is limited before I must address the problem.
