Thanks everyone, the electrical tape began as a temporary knock-point, but just like some of the others have mentioned, it hasn't budged, and I've just kept using it that way. I figure it might continue working because in my line of work, we use the stuff for everything! Who knows though...just curious if I was the only one doing this on my own little "crazy planet"!  :D    :p

I'd imagine it would slide about.

Nope it doesn't move as much as you think, I have used tape for years.

+1

Tie one on after the sweet spot is found! FWIW, the white medical tape doesn't move, and it becomes darker as it gets dirty.

Come on now.  Reliable nocking points and material is a dime a dozen.  Way too frugal.

I use waxed dental floss. Wrap and heat lightly with lighter to melt wax. Stays in place for a long time-it's also cheap.

Not so fast there. I've never used any of these "frugal" type of nocking points but these guys just may be on to something. It sounds like there might be several good alternatives to the traditional ideas on nocking points in which we've all grown accustomed to. I just may have to try one myself! I know Gorilla tape is awfully strong and sticky.

I've used electrical tape but prefer the strapping tape with the fibers in it. Never had a problem with either moving. I have had the brass nock points break serving however. I'll "stick" with the tape.
It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.

I don't like metal nocking points, so taped or tied ones are what I use.  It has nothing to do with frugality, else I wouldn't shoot carbon arrows or premium broadheads...or custom bows!  :archer:

I've had serving damaged from metal  knocks, but they are easy to change for setting up purposes.

Another dential floss user.  Tie it on just like serving your string.  Put a couple dots of fletch tite glue and your ready to go.  A packet of dental floss in the hunting pack doesn't take much room if you need to re-do it in the field.

I've tried a lot of things and I favor a tie on.  I use string serving material melt the cut off end and appy a small drop of super glue. Keep the glue off the serving. Soak up any excess glue with corner of a paper towel. These nock points never come loose and can be removed by carefull knife work without damage to the serving.
