Youth Archery Program In Shawnee, OK
« on: January 19, 2011, 10:55:00 PM »
I ran across a new wanted ad posted today on another site and just thought it would be a good idea to post the info. here. The Shawnee school is looking for people willing to donate any used or unwanted archery equipment for a new archery program they are starting. Thought it would be a good chance to give something back and a great way to ensure some kids will get an opportunity to try archery that otherwise may not. I have been looking at some new targets and thought this would be a great time to retire mine. Anyway here is the ad.

Scott.

"I am a teacher at Sequoyah Elementary in Shawnee, OK. We have recently started a youth archery program with our 3rd-5th graders and are in need of ANY targets, practice arrows, etc that anyone would be willing to donate. This is a great program and the kids are really taking to it. If you have extra used equipment you would like to donate, call Mark at 623-1886. Thanks "
We're making what once seemed impossible, simple. And what was once simple, impossible.~Me

That is awesome.  As an Oklahoma teacher it is great to see more schools around here starting up archery programs.  Iced in today, but when I go back I'll ask a few buddies if they have anything to donate too.

Awesome! I recently saw some kids arrows at Walmart for $2 each. We migh check and see if there any left at our local stores and scoop them up on clearance to donate. There were only three left at mine.
