source for CE Thunderstorms
« on: January 20, 2011, 12:17:00 PM »
I won the dozen arrows auctioned last year for St Jude's. They were CE Thunderstorms. I really like the way they shoot out of my light 40 lb bows.  I have been looking for a source to just buy the shafts .So far no luck . Id like to find some one who will cut them to my shorter length of 28.5.

Any referrals out there?

Also do you know if they will accept the 50 or 100 grain inserts as the CE Heritage shafts?

Might want to take a look at the CE predator II shafts at Braveheart Archery. Similar shaft at good price.

They won't take the inserts. They are a smaller diameter.

It is very easy to file inserts down on a drill press. Best I recall, 100grs. weigh around 82-84 grs. and 50grs. weigh around 42gr. after being filed down.

I bought 3 or 4 dozen of them over the last year or so at Wally World, especially when they mark them down after the season. I just measured one and it's 28.5" from insert to throat of the nock. This is the 3050's, which is the only ones I've seen.

be careful of the one at wally world. The camo ones are a different spine than the black ones. They are all marked 30/50 thunderstorms. The camo ones spine at 57# and the black ones spine at 72#. I was suprised to find this, but it expained why one flew better than the other.
