Mojam?
« on: January 22, 2011, 06:25:00 PM »
Does anybody have any info about Mojam?
It's been mentioned in passing a couple of times with email conversations that I've had with other members, but I can't find any info on this year's event. I tried the search feature and I scoured through the Trad events section with no luck on this year's Mojam.

If somebody could please throw a link or two my way or point me to a post that I have missed that would be able to explain what's going on this year with dates, activities, ect. I would sure appreciate that. I have never been to a Mojam event before and what little I've heard it sounds like alot of fun.
I'd love to attend, and I'd also like to bring my older brother with me. He doesn't shoot trad, but I bet he would really enjoy this sort of thing just as much as I will.

Thanks.

Not sure of the dates yet this year, but it's usually around the 3rd weekend in July, when the weather in Missouri gets warm enough to shoot. It is in Marshall, MO. There will be a lot more info coming out in the next few months as it get's closer.
In the meantime, UBM has their annual festival and banquet coming up Feb 4, 5, 6th. Check it out.

Nothing on the Marshall, MO Chamber of Commerce website yet or the Marxhall Bowhunters.

That's great guys, thanks for the info. I would like to make plans to be there. My brother works in Columbia and I don't think it's that much further on over to Marshall? Maybe we could get a motel and make a weekend out of it.
Road Trip!!          :campfire:

Huntschool- Will do, maybe we could meet up with ya somewhere along the way?
I'll have to see what's going on when it gets closer to July, but I'll put a bug in my brother's ear about it now so we can start making plans for that weekend.

Why not bring your tent and just camp with us?

I live in Ashland(south of Columbia) and I have driven to and from daily the years I didn't camp.

So the answer is... yes it's not to far to drive.

Well heck, we could get a convoy or a caravan headed west to Marshall if we get some more guys from out that way in Missouri to all meet somewhere. Maybe meet up at a convienent grub spot on the way? Have lunch or breakfast and continue on.

I'm not much on camping out in the summertime. I love it in the spring and fall, but I'm a chunky fella and I like my AC.   :D

But I would enjoy sitting around a campfire swapping stories with you all, then head to the motel after the coals die down.

I have my spot all picked out. I kinda liked being in the danger zone last year. Only had one or two stray missles come past.  I'll be there plenty early again this year. Maybe Wednesday? That gives me some time to play a little golf then too, and maybe hit the pool.  At least in July it wont be too hot. I would hate to sweat there.  This year I'm also bringing a bridge so I can get over the river that ends up flowing through camp. Don't forget thr gatorade and sunblock!

I would rather swap goods than exchange money any day. Mainly because I normaly don't have much money.   :D

Back in the old days, that's how they used to do business. Doctors worked for chickens, pot roast, and home made pie. Vets would get a calf at the end of the year for the work they did on the farmers herd, and armload of skins would get you a new coon dog and a 6 months supply of tobacco.
