Ligament/Tendon Repair shooting help

I had surgery to repair a torn tendon and ligaments in my middle finger. I am new to traditional archery started using a tab because I felt it provide more relief when shooting than a glove but it doesn't seem to be helping. I am open to either a glove or tab and need to get one with my finger issue in mind. I've read god reviews for Alaska bowhunting supply's Super Glove. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

i have gone to shotting left handed most of the time because of wear and tear on my release fingers.  i experimented with tabs by adding very thick tough leather. I have found that the heavy duty american leathers glove is easiest on my worn out finger joints when I do shoot right handed. i also pay close attention to not letting my fingers get hyper extended when I shoot.  i grab deep and keep them loaded and bent, not stretching straight or snapping straight on the release.  You could try also, to hold your pinky with your thumb to keep the loaded force up in your hand.

I have also had three shoulder surgeries on my left shoulder so I doubt shooting left handed is a possibility.  I'll look at the american leathers glove. I have tried holding my fingers in different positions so that they don't hyperextend but I'm a little confused by holding my pinky with my thumb?

Like a boy scout salute except with rounded fingers. It makes your ring finger stronger and tighter. Have you tried warming it up and then doing exercises by adding resistance supplied by your other hands fingers.  I am a classical guitarist, I used these walking the spider workouts to get my hands back when arthritis got me.  I have actually cured the arthritis and can shoot left hand and right again without pain, but I am favoring the left just as a precaution.

Try the Chines balls, the ones that are made of metal. all you do is try to roll them around in one hand at a time, while your sitting and watching TV.

Thanks Pavan, now I know what you mean. I have tried warming it up with some of the rehab exercises they had me do after the surgery, but it hasn't helped much.

I need some specifics on what tendons, what type of repair, and when it was...please.

To be honest I don't even know. It was in eighth grade (about 10 years ago) and the scar runs from the tip of my finger to my hand in a zig zag pattern. The doc initially said I wouldn't be able to play sports anymore and it might be best to cut the finger off because it would just get in the way. After a second opinion another doctor offered to do the surgery and I regained use of it and only really have issues with it when shooting with fingers or lifting heavy free weights.

Thanks for the info.  My father's arthritis has forced him to place extra strips of thick leather in the finger stahls of his glove.  He gets a lot of relief from this.
