Happy Australia Day!

To all my Aussie friends, I just wanted to wish you all a safe and happy Australia Day!  To celebrate, a mate and I are headed out tomorrow for a weekend of goat hunting, star gazing and general mischief in the outback.  

For those who don't know, Australia Day is like American 4th of July.

(Their "Constitution Day" is July 9th).

Australia Day is more like our Columbus Day - though Captain Phillip knew where he was.

I saw one of my students receive the "Young Citizen of the Year Award"...

I ducked into school to program some writing...

And then I shot my one-piece Silvertip out on the oval, at ranges from ten to fifty metres...

Now, I might read a book!

And many thanks to you Aussies for being America's allies and actually pitching in when we have needed it. You folks were one of our very few 'boots on the ground' allies during Vietnam, and lots of us took notice. G'day to all of you.
