« on: January 28, 2011, 09:05:00 PM »
Hey there guys I am looking for a place to hunt pigs in Oklahoma myself and two others would like to come down this february and hunt? Public or a Ranch any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Jim Ourada Jr.
Its not the size of the animal you hunt that matters. Its how you hunt the animal.

Here's a link to a place in Pawnee, OK that offers pig hunts   http://www.oklahomaboarhunters.com/
And another one is the Chain Ranch

I've never been to either but I think the further south you go in Oklahoma the more hogs there are. I live in Northern Oklahoma and have yet to see a wild hog or evidence of wild hogs while hunting in my area. A Google search should bring up several results down south.

Just knock on doors south of Muskogee on Dirty creek area. Lots of hogs ruining the habitat. Land owners will let you hunt.

I live in NW Missouri and spent the better part of several days trying to call and research places to hunt hogs that were within driving distance. The conclusion I came to was it was either Shiloh Ranch around Ada, OK or you really need to head on to TX.

I've had great luck with an outfitter in NE Texas.  stretchastring.com.  James Fosters place really isn't that much further than OK.  Your going to spend 10 hours at least driving to southern OK and so about another 3 hours and your at stretch a string.

Personally I'm really leary of one of those places that is mostly a gun hunting only type hog hunting facility.

Hope that helps,

Chris

Most WMAs on the south and southeast part of the state have good populations of pigs.  Just be prepared to do a few days scoutin and be prepared to have to deal with pressured, dog run hogs. Some of the northern WMAs also have hogs also...Heyburn has a ton of hogs...but you gotta have a boat to get to em.
