Thanks!

Dryfired,  The best of show was a big chip carved bowl.  It was a woodcarving show after all.  42 categories and only 3 are for woodburning.  Pyrography is kinda an afterthought at these shows.  They let us participate but most shows only have one category for us and to even be considered to place in best of show just never happens.  The judge even told me that after the show.  Makes it that much more rewarding!

I sure hope to get one of your pieces before they start getting priced at the fair market value of your talent!

Hey, Doc!

I'm in sales.  Started a job last September as a regional manager with a company that manufactures and sells digital dental x-ray sensors to dentists and veterinarians.  Almost embarrassed to tell you who because we are trying real hard to turn around the poor reputation for support they had developed over the years.  We are making real progress!  The company used to be AFP Imaging, but is now ImageWorks.

Shaun, prices are going up.  As much as I love doing these pieces, I just can't keep making 4 to 5 dollars an hour with all the time I put into them.  Also, with the recognition I am getting there is starting to be real demand for other types of pieces.  Like this one:

Here are all the pieces I entered, photo isn't the greatest

May be alittle early, but thought I would bring this post up to try and promote the St Jde auction.  Hard to believe this was 6 years ago.  Better bid high and often!  Might be another 5 years before I offer one in the auction again ;-)

I've adopted too many bows that needed a good home.
