Season Stats - closing the books
« on: January 30, 2011, 07:32:00 PM »
Its time to close the books on the 2010-2011.  Its been fun but its been frustrating.  I kept a few stats this year:

I sat 59 times for a total of 171 hours.
I saw 71 deer, 28 of which were bucks.
0 shots at bucks.
1 shot at a doe which I botched!

I live an hunt in Central Alabama.  I hunted 1 week in Western Pennsylvania.  I logged less than a third of those of those hours in PA but saw 1/2 the deer there and 2/3 of the bucks there.  Other than the week in PA, I am relegated mostly to weekend hunts at home on restricted access public ground.  As the season wears on, the deer are very pressured and sightings get fewer and fewer.  It shows in my log for sure.  In both PA and AL, there are antler restrictions where I hunt so I had a few bucks in range but shots were passed because they were either not legal or not deemed a shooter on that particular day.

Alabama deer hunting is just plain tough in my opinion.  Tell me how these stats stack up against yours.
