Beaver Tail Armguard
« on: January 31, 2011, 03:48:00 PM »
Anyone got any pics to share of beaver tail arm guards? I just sent a tail away to get tanned with the intent of getting an arm guard made from it, now I need some ideas of what it should look like so I can pass them along to Mr. Lam the leather guy.

Good idea, should be pretty unique. I've got a tail in the freezer and this may be the plan for it as well.

Hey Cowboy Al, where did you send your beaver tail to get it tanned? How much $0.00 for the tanning?  I have around a dozen tails split, fleshed and boraxed. I thought I was on the right track for some grips until I saw a finished tail at Kalamazoo.  The tail at kalamazoo felt like suede.

Is it thick enough? If you never hit your arm it won't matter. Do show us pics when you get it done.
