cleaning bow

I did a search on all forums and found nothing so I hope it's ok to post  this here.  

My wife's 1963 Bear Polar looks like the limbs have "yellowed" over the years.  There is one spot (that looks like a label was once attached) that is cleaner and brighter than the rest. There are a few other places where it looks cleaner.

Question: is there some sort of cleaner or solvent that will restore the color without harming the rest of the finish?  I looked online but could never find a sufficient answer.

Not too sure on this one. I had really good luck using goo-gone to get years of crud off an old 70's model grizzly, but I don't think it would do anything to actually brighten up the bow. I'm interested to hear what some others have to say on this.

The yellowing is from the lacquer finish they put on the bow.  Some can sand off the finish and recoat it.  Just don't sand down into the glass.  It's also recommended not to use heavy solvents on laminated bows for obvious reasons.  I've done minor cleanups on old bows, but never a complete refinish.  There are a ton on good threads on refinishing old bows here.
