arrow wraps and kids arrows
« on: February 08, 2011, 03:58:00 PM »
Hoping to make up some new arrows for my girls.  They are excited about some new pink arrows.

will arrow wraps fit 1/4" diameter kids arrows or can they be trimmed to fit?

Thanks

They can be trimmed to fit.  Take a piece of tape and wrap it around the shaft to where it meets itself....mark the tape at that point then unroll it and measure the width.  Then just mark the width on the wraps and cut with a razor knife.  Make sure to allow for whatever finish you're going to put on the arrow.  Onestringer has some wraps that are smaller diameter that you won't have to trim too much.

ive never had  any notice in flight with alum. size wraps on my carbons. i just roll the wrap on and just let the leftove wrap onto the other side. i hat to tr y and trim them cause i cant draw yet alone cut on a strait line even if my life depended on it.

I buy my wraps as long as possible from Onestringer.com and cut in a cheap paper cutter that my wife got at a craft store..All the 3 " leftovers were saved for later use on my girls arrows or for just adding seperate colors on the arrows if I want to...Always buy the longest you can and those paper cutters are like 10.00 for the plastic ones...Onestringer has 8 dozen "Solid color" AND YOU CAN MIX THOSE COLORS wraps for $18.00 T.Y.D. and I paid that much just for one dozen before..They will make them any size you want and sometimes he adds a few extra...You can cut them anyway you want but on a really sharp paper cutter you can be perfect...
