That is nice, and for a skull mount, it doesn't look as eerie on the natural wood as on a plaque.

I have one on a plaque but if the opportunity ever arises, I would like to do one like that too.
May your next adventure lighten your heart, test your spirit, and nourish your soul.

You did a really nice job on that.  I always have had a taxidermist do mine.  Yours looks every bit as good. Congrats!!!!

Excellent job indeed!

Great buck too!

Shoulder mounts are great, but a Euro done as well as yours, is just as good IMHO!

Great job. Really like the wood idea.

One thing I am wondering about is did you lose the sinuses?

I have found by simmering just one day and letting it just soak overnight I was able to preserve all the sinuses.

Wow, I have hope, but I have to wait for family to leave before I start boiling.  You've given me hope.  Fantastic job and beautiful mount!

Here's a picture of one I did a couple of years ago, to get some off the wall.

I also did a skull/Euro mount with mine. I've just got mine hanging on the wall, but I really like your driftwood idea. I live right near the river so I may keep my eyes out for the "perfect" looking piece of driftwood and give it a shot?

Thanks for sharing.

BTW- I was hunting just slightly east of you in Montgomery County. Small world huh?
That is a trip. They very well may be brothers, or distant cousins. Who knows.     ;)

I got this guy in Western St. Charles County, around Defiance. Little 13 acre property that I have been hunting for several years. It is my favorite property to hunt, because it is small, productive, and I know it well.

If you go with the driftwood idea be sure to show us some pics. Nice talkin to you! SAM [/b]
If your in St. Chuck county then your further east than where I was hunting, but that's an awesome area up there. The largest non typical of all time was found dead in St. Charles county.
