Hello Everyone
« on: February 15, 2011, 11:16:00 PM »
This is my first post, I have to say what a breath of fresh air. I have been a member for a few days just surfing the forums and looking around. There is an amazing wealth of knowledge here.

I do have a regret, I have been in archery for 51 years, started when I was 7 with a orange and white fiberglass bow. Loved to go into the woods around my home trying to find rabbits.

Over the years I began to develop an interest in Compounds, looking back now I really dont know why. The regret is all of the years I have lost that could have been invested in Traditional Archery.

I have tinkered with Traditional off and on over the entire 51 years but until recently havent committed to it 100%. About 2 months ago the compound had to go and I bought a Martin 50# Serengeti and I have a Martin Dream Catcher 40# on the way which may be here tomorrow.

But, no crying over spilled milk, I have the rest of my life to hone the skills needed to be successful. The improvements I have seen just in the last month is fantastic, 4 in groups at 10 yards and 10 in groups at 20 yards(most of the time that is)

I cant put my finger on it yet but there is just something profound about shooting a traditional bow, its almost like the bow is part of you..I am not afraid to say I am truly in love with this sport at a level I have not seen before.

So, glad to be here and looking forward to years of learning!
The things you do today will be tomorrows topics of conversation, make it a good story!
