As much as I tried with all the files, stones, and sharpening gadgets, I was never quite satisfied with the results. They may have been sharp enough and would pop hair but never quite to the point where just looking at the made me bleed

I know there have been many posts about sharpening and sharpeners but I am so happy with my results that redundant is in order.

I just purchased a Razor-sharp edge making system from AH and went on a sharpening binge!! Nothing in the house was safe and Oh my ever so sharp!!! The edge is a super polished razor sharp, finished product. Sharpening is probably easy for most of you and now it is for me

Is that one of the paper wheel & jewelers rouge type?

If I were to give up file & strop it would be for that kind.

The edge is polished sharp and I mean sharp!!!

Been wanting to try one of those. I can get heads super sharp if I have enough time. I like the super sharp in a short amount of time aspect. Gary

The main difference in the Centaur version is that it is 1/2 inch compared to 5/8 inch wide to handle concave curved blades better. They are both great systems.

Ive been seriously thinking about buying this set up as i struggle sharpening anything- anybody have anything negative to say about it?

Go to Harbor Freight tools and pick up one of their 6" buffers to mount the paper wheels on with a 20% off coupon. Makes it less than 40 bucks and works better than a grinder due to the increased distance between the wheels. Great system for two blade heads.

Just be sure to always let the wheels go AWAY from the edge and not into it. Otherwise it gets real ugly , real quick. I turned my motor around so the top of the wheels is going away from you and always work on the top . Less likely to make the mistake.NEVER, ever try to sharpen 3 or 4 blade broadheads. EVER !
I keep meaning to try to come up with some sort of fixture to sharpen off of to maintain a constant angle. If anyone comes up with this first, please share.

You can get hurt in a split second with this system if you don't follow this advice!
