I've shot a bunch of elk with the Delta two blader. Hit one that was steeply quartering away just in front of the hip. It came out alongside the neck. I didn't plan it that way but the elk moved when I shot. That's over three feet of penetration. Gary

Shooting 70#s you should be able to shoot any kind of broadhead you like. The delta is a great choice.

I have used Zwickeys for years and they are a great head. The only problem I have is that the finish comes off easy and then they rust. For penetration they can hold their own against any other broadhead.

If you are shooting them from the ground with a 70# bow at deer, you will have a problem. The problem will be finding your arrow because it will go so far after exiting the far side of the deer. From a tree stand, it will just be a matter of how far it will be buried into the ground.

46# Kanati, Beman ICS Bowhunter 500, 135 gr. Zwickey Delta 2 blade, 100 gr. adapter, 22.03% FOC, 22 yards, complete pass through. Exit wound is visible in this shot. The buck made it 92 of my steps from the shot. Penetration...not a problem!

Seriously.....I can't tell you how many deer I've killed with  Z D 4 blades.  The all passed through like they were made of paper unless I jammed the off shoulder...

As far as getting the bleeders sharp...piece of cake with a small fine tooth file.

Maybe this will help easy your mind a bit....

I passed through this  #300 class shielded sow with a ZD4 from a 60# longbow....I'm sure you can get them through a deer.     :campfire:

Are those the one blade edge or two edge..
meaning are the sharpend on just one side of the blade or both?  If that makes sense

Terry, That about answers my question on penetration. I hope when I get to GA(hopefully by May 1st) I can get a little pig action with Delta.

I have 2 dozen No Mercys that are double bevel.  I think you can buy them either way.

I'm pretty sure all Deltas and Eskimos are double....but I don't know for sure.
