Considering that some of us have waited more than 50 years to get our birth year bow, waiting a few moons for a bow from the future is a good deal.

Also, some of these "wait" bows get to you pretty fast. I have two Wes Wallace Royals that got to me three days after I paid for 'em. Of course the ORIGINAL owners, the guys with their names on my bows, probably did wait a tad longer.

I love me a custom bow. I mean I LOVE them, my Gila is truly pure art and function. I love my little Solstice.
Being on a waiting list is cool stuff, the "jones" makes the experience of getting that wonderful custom all the more special. Awesome. But, why would a guy want to wait like that for their very first trad bow? Especially when he could be shooting? Not to mention, that good old bow will teach a lesson or two about it all----those lessons will certainly be applied to the purchase of this custom bow, making the experience all the better.

I bought my first "custom" bow when i was 14 years of age from a pawn shop, it was a "Blackhawk" recurve and to this day, i dont know who made it. I now have bows by Marriah, Dayle Dye, Bob Lee, Das, Sley, and have a Tall Tines coming. Each bow was bought at a different stage in my life and each has a special place in my hand. You certainly dont need a custom bow to be a good archer or bowhunter, but, it adds to the experience and i think brings you deeper into the love of traditional archery.
