Stone Points
« on: February 26, 2011, 09:37:00 PM »
I would love to make up some stone tipped arrows. Does anyone here knap? I would love to talk to you about it and see if we could work out some sort of deal or trade for some points. Thanks for taking the time to look.

Check out some of the books and videos available at 3 Rivers Archery. I learned alot from these. I made a few decent points but havent done it for a few years.

I knap some but have to many other things going on before gobbler season and through the summer. I have a hard time knapping my own. But get on PA theres lots of knappers there that will fix you up. But let me say a matching set artn't cheap. It's not cheap to make your own. Unless you qurray your own rock.

MR. Steele has it correct, a good napper can get points close to the same weight, plus or minus 5-10 grns. A matching set of points like that are hard to find and are not cheep.

I have been chipping for about twenty five years and I make stone points when I have time. I would be more than glad to talk with you.
