Jim Dougherty serpent shafts
« on: February 27, 2011, 10:56:00 AM »
Don't see these hardly at all for sale, anyone know how rare they are or if there is collectors value on them?
Also wondering how long they were marketed for, I think it was the first permagraphic shaft available, any info on these shafts?

I think that they were only offered for a limited run in just a few popular sizes. I pick up XX75 shafts whenever possible and for the right price, but I never pay more for the "odd" paterns (treebark, knotty birch, serpents,OA)so I really dont think that there is any "collector" premium on the price. They do make a much prettier arrow though than run of the mill GGs or camo hunters when capped and crested. I think I have a half dozen somewhere with my 2016s in case I pick up a bow that shoots that size.

Here are some JDA Serpents in use from last season. I love the old camo patterns.

Wensel boys may have some info. I remember pics of them in the old Echo catalogs when Brunner ran the show. Sweet looking shafts, I never shot them though.
