Traded a recurve for a like new 50 pound Montana about a month ago. This is my first longbow and I love the way it shoots. I ditched the stock string for a 14 strand D-97 and braced mine at 7 1/2 inches on some advice from some Montana shooters. Bow shoots plenty fast for me and is super quiet with just some catwhiskers I had laying around. I would highly recommend a Montana to anyone looking for a longbow.

I own one. Very quiet, smooth pulling and shock free. The handle is definitely square but as with any bow you can adapt.

I went to Montana with the folks to see friends when I was 17 or so. They introduced us to the trad sport. So of course when I got home it only made sense to buy the bow that said montana on it, right? Still have the bow. Well, I still own it anyway. It's my loaner bow that I let friends borrow to learn on. It's in Alaska as we speak teaching yet someone else. For the price you can't beat them.
