Tabs for Kids
« on: March 01, 2011, 03:59:00 AM »
Hey Guys, well, as usual i am away from home again for another couple of months.  I brought  along a few things for me to do in my spare time.

A couple of years ago my wife and i were looking to buy a leather couch and love seat for the living room.  we must have gone to the furniture store a dozen times trying to decide.  Every time i came home i had a pocket full of little leather samples.  Being the pack rat that i am i could never throw these samples away.   So before my trip i began thinking, i remember i made a few tabs for my boys in the past with these sample.  So now I have made 32 tabs for children.  I have enough to make another 9.

The picture shows what i used to make them, a pen to trace the original tab, the leather samples, a pair of scissors  ( the only ones i have are for my mustache) and an exacto knife to start the finger hole.

These are really easy to make and i hope it will inspire others to make some for children they know.

So here what i was thinking.  If anyone would like a tab for their children, shoot me an e-mail and i will give you my address.  Send me a self addressed stamped envelope and i will send them to you.

Here is my disclaimer.  some of the leather is rather thin and my workmanship is only average.  they are all approximately the same size.  give or take ...depending on my mood when i was making them.  They are just right for a child between the ages of 3 and 9.  They can be cut down very easily with most any scissors.   I will try and hold whatever colors you see in the picture if you like.

Additionally i wont be able to get the tabs sent out until my return home at the end of April.

What do you guys think ??

That's pretty cool man, I made a 3 under tab for my daughter by using about the same idea, I'm sure they'll make a lil one very happy when they get them.   :clapper:
Zona Custom Recurve: 60" 49# @ 27.5".
Sky Sky Hawk Recurve: 60" 47# @ 27.5".
Genesis 27:3 Now therefore, please take thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and hunt game for me.
