The widow longbow is a great shooting bow and if you are looking at a take down, I have had both systems and liked the locket socket the best.

Very similar is the Big Jim Buffalo Bow. Most people think it is a widow until they see how much prettier it is. Slightly more reflexed too. And the price starts around $500. Ask anybody here and they will tell you you can't go wrong. Only problem is he has about a 7 month waiting list now.

nkw88..I just bought a Tomahawk Diamond SS in Jan. A 62" 52# @ 28" and I'm very pleased with it
It's very smooth and no stacking and no hand shock. I'm sure you would be happy with one.

I have shot both and hands down the Widow for me. Both shot nice, so it is up to you.
If you can try them both then that will be the way to go. Good luck.

The T-hawk is hard to beat
Smooth, quite, fast and no hand shock. I have the woodland hunter diamond series, 50# @ 28" and 58"amo.

Have owned both, you should try both head to head and decide. I preffered the Black Widow, with that said both are quality bows, good luck, Jerry.

Of those two and at the prices I would be doing a bunch of looking around. Lots of choices and some really great bows being made today. Morrisons, Centaurs, Schaffers and the list goes on.
Of the two though it would be a BW.

I shoot both on a regular basis. The Tomahawk is a Woodland Diamond 64” and 46@28. The Black Widow PLX is 64” and 47@28. I can’t tell any speed difference between them. The Tomahawk seems to pull smoother than the BW. The BW shelf is cut to center and the T-Hawk is cut a little shy of that. For that reason it seems the PLX excepts a slightly greater range of arrows. Probably the biggest difference would be in the grip and that would be a personal choice. If I were to choose between two new bows, I would get a Tomahawk based on price alone. Both are great bows, but you already know that.

I'd expect the widow to sell quicker on the used market if you tire of it.

Both good bows, but if you plan on getting rid of it, I think the BW holds it's value more. Just something to think about.

I have shot both bows and tried them both out before I bought one I bought the tomahawk diamond series woodland hunter it fit me the best. They are both great bows I would try to shoot them both then see which one fit you better and buy that bow

I'm a little biased because I own 4 tomahawks and have been shooting them for over 10 years now but I've shot both and both are great bows but found that the tomahawk fits me the best. I like the smooth draw and the grip much better than the widow plus I shoot the tomahawks better. Best suggestion is to try both and see which fits you the best and shoots the best for you. Don't think you can go wrong with either. Dino
