PVC tubes get around
« on: March 07, 2011, 01:02:00 PM »
While cleaning up a pvc tube, to pack a bow for shipment, I couldn't help but notice that particular tube has visited Pa., Tx., Wy., Ga., and now heading to NC. Still goin'...

I shipped a HH longbow in 3" schedule 30 with plywood ends screwed in, and was completly satisfied with it.  I wouldn't think of using anything else.

Yeah, a pvc tube is all I use. That's one benefit of shooting longbows, since they will fit in a tube. I just thought it was fairly neat the way this tube was making it's way around the country. It might have been other places but I don't know, since I only cleaned off an area big enough to get a new address on it.

How cool is this?   Way!!!! I'm saying.......

I think about important stuff like this all the time!

It's kind of the same way I think about a coin or arrowhead I might find.

I wonder about the life of the last persons' hands that might have held it.

There's a bunch of stuff that I wish could talk to me and tell me about itself, like old abandon farm equipment(horse-drawn), old barns, old homesteads.

Maybe I'm just having an Andy Rooney moment...lol

That's kinda cool, and I'm getting ready to buy a piece of PVC to ship a bow in myself. Where's the best place to get it and how expensive it thin walled pvc pipe? I'm going to need a piece about 70" long.

Rain gutter down spout tube makes an excellent shipping container if it's a longbow.

I got a bow that shipped all the way from Canada in one.(thanks Bob!)

Not being round made it very easy to work with when re-using it too.

The corner of my shop has a nice pile of carpet tubes and PVC tubes from all over getting ready to head to all over again! Maybe we should start signing our first names and states on them? That would be cool, kind of like the garden gnome thing.
