Groves Mag II

Wondering if anyone still hunts with the Mag II metal handle recurve with the original dynastressed limbs? How do they perform? My friend had one back in the 80's, but it was pretty heavy at 75lbs. and it was hard for me to shoot. I would like to find one again...

I have one that is 69# and two seets of limbs that are 66# and 55#. I would be willing to sell the 55# limbs if you can find a Groves riser. They were back up limbs and have only been shot to tune them.

Performance wise the Groves bows were way ahead of their time. There are a few on here that would attest to their speed and stability. My avatar pic is with a buck I shot with the 69# limbs.

You have another one, Matt! The other one I got from you is sweet.

I just adapted some ILF limbs to my original Mag II. Now I have an alternative source of limbs.

The grip on the Mag II is one of the nicest ones around. Love shooting my Groves!

Not sure about the metal riser Groves but I sold quite a few Mag I and II's when I was dealing them.

I personally shoot the 56" one piece for whitetails and at 57# will hold its own against the custom bows. This bow handles my 2117's, AD Trad Lites and even "Spit" out my heavier barrel tapered ash with authority.

Great bow...good luck with it.
