Does anyone know the differences between AstroFlight and Ultracam string: strength, dia., abrasion resistance, etc.?

Similar diameter. Astro is 100% dyneema, whereas ultracam is 44% dyneema and 56% vectran. Abrasion resistance is pretty similar. Strength? Don't know for sure, but would guess Astro will be stronger over the long haul due to not having the vectran. Both are excellent materials.

I don't use either one but have some info available.Astro flight is supposed to be the strongest string material(as advertized) with excellent speed with 125#ss break strength at .014" dia. Ultra cam has lowest creep(as advertized) with good durability. It has 118#ss break strength at .015" dia. Hope it helps.

Spoke with a well known bowyer that is recommending the AstroFlight. He was impressed with it and is using it on his personal bow.

Good info, thanks. I've been building my strings with Ultra Cam and like it. I do seem to notice a fair amount of abrasion below the serving and was wondering if AstroFlight was more resistant. I may have to try some.

I have just made two strings using astroflight and like it so far. Biggest thing I noticed is that it is just as quiet as Dacron. The first string I made only stretched 1/16'' of inch when left strung on my bow for one week (without shooting it).
