Habu Bows

Anybody ever sell their spot in line for these bows?

I hear there is like a 3 year wait????? Wow....

My Habu Vyperkahn Longbow Justification and Attempt to Minimize Rationalization         

1   Grip:   After numerousl trials over the several years the grip seemed to fit me better than any bow I have tried to date.         
      Most grips and I don't get along         
2   Shootability:   Have shot a 62# 1st VyperKahn design & found the bow to be more comfortable than any of my previous bows that I had shot 1000's of times.         

      Not being one that can not pick up any bow and shoot it, I was impressed         
      The 50 pounder, I would order should be quite pleasant          
3   Bow Length:   Prefer bows 62 to 64" for shooting          
3      Prefer bows 60 to 62" for hunting         
3      Comfortable shooting up to 62" bows out of a std DB blind         
      Current experience with shorter bows is limited and the ones I have shot         
        at 58" and below were somewhat uncomfortable.         
4   Hand Shock:   Minimal to none - Less than my previously owned BW PSA II, Daala, ACS  & possibly less than my BD          
5   Sound:   Quiter than my BW PSA II, Daala, BD and ACS         
6   Limbs:   Like the silence and feel of longbow limbs better than recurve limbs
6      Tortional resistant design - Additonal forgiveness at release
7   Deflex riser:   Less prone to torque thus promoting forgiveness
8   Performance   Triple carbon longbow limbs will perform with the best recurve limbs
9   Draw   Smoother than my BW and Daala and possibly smoother than my ACS & BD
10   Brace Ht:   Ample brace ht -One feature I miss from my BW PSA II
10      The Vyperkahn has great brace ht at 8 1/4"
10      High brace ht promotes forgiveness
11   Physical Wt:   Was pleased with the wt of the BW PSA.
      Vyperkahn w/LB limbs will be similar
      Would want the cocobola over the bocote since cocobola weighs noticeably more
      Hunt w/o a quiver so the extra wt stablizes the bow and promotes forgiveness
12   Service:   Have heard or read only positive experiences
      Chris has been great to work with over the prior years in determining whether to pursue one.

13   Durability:   Possibly the most durable bow available

14   Craftsmanship:   Excellent

15   Appearance:   Very good

   **   With all the forgiveness design attributes, you would think I was specking out a
      target bow and not a rugged hunting bow.


   Sold all my bows to finance this one.   

   Turned out to be a great decision.   

   Honestly, don't know what I would request for any changes.   

   My Vyperkahn seems to be a personal perfect match

Had my new Vyperkhan about a month and half, wouldn't trade it for anything, Have to say the best longbow I have ever shot. Alot of money but worth every cent. Three years is a long time but the two months after Chris calls you is even longer!

I've had just about all of the designs that Chris has put out. I can say my Vyperkahn is the best yet. I believe I was the one that said, it just about shoots itself. All kidding aside I think it makes me a better shot then I thought I could be.

For me, the best bow I have ever shot.  Kinda hard to add to the other stuff that has already been said.  Pastorstevehill, the wait time is more like two years.  I think at one time I posted a wait time of 3 years, but I made a mistake.  The last one I ordered I had in just around 2 years....if that helps for ya!
    There IS a noticible difference between the double carbon models and the tripple carbon models.  In my opinion, the tripple carbon has even less vibration, which I thought would be pretty much impossible after having the double carbon.

I echo all the good remarks about the Viperkahns. The only thing I would change would be to get a higher wristed grip, which isn't offered. That being said, I shoot mine very well and enjoy it immensely. Steve, you have a PM.

I have never even seen one of these bows. I got on his list about 45 days ago or so. Chris told me I would receive a note in the mail in about 20 months. I'll have to pay for the bow in full at that time and receive the bow about 4 months later. I ordered the Hycurve as I prefer the look of recurves over longbows. I also prefer cocobolo for the weight and visual.

I have a HABU Bushmaster Excalibur recurve that is 64" and 60# at 29 1/2 in excellent condition. It is gray, black and red. I have had it for several years but do not shoot it anymore...it is more Lbs than my shoulder can handle after 2 rotator cuff surgeries.  I have held on to it because they are hard to get but would consider parting ways with it if you have an interest in it.

I picked up a Bushmaster in December and I just got my second one last week I'm not sure of the model and don't really care since they do shoot great for me. I don't know if I could stand the wait and will continue to keep my eye out for used ones.

I owned a Death Adder which is not made anymore. I wish I had it back. I also had a Viperkann hycurve that was absolutely beautiful. It got away as well. You can't go wrong with a Habu

man those bows are awsome looking. but wow that price, the limbs alone cost more then most bows. would love to try one out

Not surprised by the way you folks feel about the VyperKan, I felt the same way when Chris sent me a prototype of the Vyperkhan five years ago.  Since then I have shot the double carbon limbs and now triple carbons.  The long bow limbs in a 62" bow are my choice.  My wife has a 60" bow in bocote with recurve limbs and she is always grabing my longbow model. I Love this bow and belive it is the best bow for me I have ever shot in 40 years of bowhunting.
