Troubles with fletchings...
«

Hey guys,
I was just wondering if anyone else has had troubles with fletchtite 'platinum' and carbons...? I use a Bitz jig and shoot goldtips, and as far as I know, I'm doing everything right. However, I get maybe 100 shots before the feathers start lifting off of the shaft - usually in the middle. The feathers are still in great shape, just coming off...
Should I try some other fletch cement like duco? Any and all suggestions appreciated

I have used fletchtite Platinum since it came on the market I have never had a problem lightly sand the shafts then clean with isopropal and fletch away give feathers at least 30 min dry time and you will be a happy with results that will last for years I have flethed all brands of shafts with good results

I use the platinum with arrow wraps on carbons because of the problems I had with it sticking to the bare shafts. It adheres to the wraps Excellent.

I haven't had any problems with Platinum on carbon shafts if you prep them. But lately I prefer to put wraps on carbons and haven't had any problems with Platinum working with wraps either.

I agree with BigRon. I use wraps on my GT carbons and havent had one drop off yet. I just started also using fletch tape but not sure of the results of yet. only ran a few so far and no problems

ive use fletch tite platinum all my life and love it, it just got to where it was sticking to my clamp and would pull the feather off the arrow, so i went to fletch tape and used the platnium on the ends....

I had trouble with Fletchtite Platinum sticking to carbons. Tried all sorts of cleaners. I use Fast Fletch and clean with MEK.

I had problems with the platinum on aluminum shafts no matter what I cleaned them with before use. I went back to regular Fletch Tite, no more problems.
