My buddy and I always used to go for 5B south, but now I put in for 6A because I want to hunt the quiet areas where you don't have quads and the like driving all over you.

I guess my frustration isn't so much that I didn't get drawn, but the shift of archery tags to rifle tags (which I assume is mostly a revenue thing).

I know eventually I will get drawn again, but I am looking forward to getting to go on my first trad elk hunt and I kinda had it in my mind this was my year.

Oh well, good luck to all who got drawn.

Sorry you didn't get drawn. That is always a downer when you get the news, but in Arizona it is more often bad news that you didn't get drawn than good news. It is really getting difficult to get drawn. Had a friend that was so happy he drew unit 1 and then come to find out he accidentally put in the hunt number for cow. So I guess the good news is he can put some meet in the freezer. He was really bummed. My oldest son did not have a tag last year but the group he went up with to help shot 3 nice bulls on the archery hunt in 4A. My 2 sons and I all have tags so it is going to be a really nice week hunting with the boys.

Jethor I feel your pain,I can't even justify putting in for the cost. AZ odds are like trying to draw a Utah tag they are both nearly a once in a lifetime tag anymore. At least in AZ they don't give the peak of the rut to the rifle hunters like Utah! It's all about the money in most western states now and rifle tags sell better.
